Mechanical Project Manager - Olympic Dam

Our client is an Australian contracting group operating in the areas of Mining and Civil Construction. With offices throughout Australasia, they employ thousands of people to work on major projects and they have a reputation of delivering high standards of work and innovative solutions.

They are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Manager whose primary responsibility will be to foster and develop and grow our client's multidiscipline engineering team.

This role will be based at our Olympic Dam operations, with a possibility of Perth based work initially. FIFO from Adelaide or Perth.

The responsibilities of the Mechanical Project Manager will include (but are not limited to);

• To provide strong HSEC leadership
• To plan, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of assigned projects within safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• To ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
• To ensure a full understanding of the Project scope and deliverables
• To provide site support to all employees working in Olympic Dam and be accountable for overall project outcomes
• Portfolio project management for projects at Olympic Dam.

In order to be successful, candidates will be required to display;

• Bachelor of Mining Engineering;
• Minimum 10 years experience
• Good interpersonal and management skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Strong leadership skills and abilities; and
• A commitment to safety.

Candidates who have had strong mining or resource sector experience will be highly regarded. Previous experience in a Contractor environment will also be advantageous.
