Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:
Our company's Sydney team have a busy mechanical engineering group with a high performing leader providing mentorship and guidance in addition to providing autonomy and career direction.

Reporting to the Mechanical Group Principal, we are seeking an experienced (8-10 years) self-sufficient engineer with considerable experience in pumps, processing and pipe-related engineering.

Typical tasks include:
  • Specification of system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Assisting drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Providing feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.
  • Writing performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
  • Application of engineering principles and practices to emerging fields, such as robotics, waste management, and biomedical engineering.
  • Estimation of costs and submission of bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
  • Clear interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer generated reports.
  • New business development.
  • Conferring with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Your background in consultancy and experience in mining and water related industry and clients will put you in good stead for this high-activity role. You will have superb written and verbal communication skills and be seen as the 'go to engineer' when the group Principal is absent.
