Contracts Specialist
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the focus of this role is responsible for the delivery of contracting, procurement and commercial management services for the Customer Group, for goods and services associated with operation services.
Your primary accountabilities will include:
- Support the customer group to obtain sound and commercially viable contractual arrangements with suppliers and contractors by understanding and applying sound commercial management
- Working with customer group to develop contracting strategies and executing approved and formal contracting processes, assisting with tenders, negotiations with vendors and contractors, preparing recommendations, compilation and timely issue of contracts and coordinating execution and distribution of documents and successful implementation of the agreement
- Providing post execution contracts performance management support to the Customer Group, managing compliance and adherence to contractual terms and conditions, assisting with dispute resolution, managing bonus/penalty provisions, contract extension and termination, variations and contract key performance indicators and reporting.
To be successful in this role the candidate must possess:
- Experience working for a resource company
- In depth understanding of and capabilities in the process of contracts cope and commercial terms compilation, tendering, proposal review, negotiation , conforming, execution and administration of contracts, suing previous exposure, knowledge and experience in the application of contracts law and Australian Standards
- A degree majoring in Commerce, Law, Engineering or related disciplines
- Ability to handle multiple and highly complex tasks and activities that contain financial and operational risk
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills couple with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at both operations and senior levels.
