  • Port Hedland, residential position
Working closely with the Port Hedland Community team the purpose of this role is to maintain Fortescue's reputation and ensure social licence to operate from positive and up to date communication on Fortescue's activities in the Port Hedland Community.

Key accountabilities will include:
  • Project manage the annual community satisfaction surveys in Port Hedland and  provide advice on the outcome;
  • Develop Community Business Communication Plans and implement agreed actions;
  • Conduct stakeholder surveys as required;
  • Deliver information events (Economic Forums, Hedland Information Night, Council & Stakeholder updates);
  • Prepare articles for local paper and publications;
  • Prepare information fact sheets as required;
  • Prepare material for website and intranet and internal publications;
  • Deliver projects on industrial tourism information (cruise ship visit, Visitor Information Centre - stand and theatrette);
  • Coordinate the development of a Fortescue Sponsorship Recognition Strategy and review annually;
  • Prepare and implement communication plans for Port Hedland and Newman community projects;
  • Provide advice on communication plans and stakeholder engagement in conjunction with the Manager on company expansion/operations; &
  • Manage the selection and supply of promotional material.
As our ideal candidate, you will have experience in communication management with external parties including local communities, stakeholder and Aboriginal communities. With significant experience in delivering community communications and project events, you will hold a degree in a relevant area such as communications, marketing and public relations. With a reputation for being an excellent communicator you will also be competent in multiple issues management.

This role will offer residential housing and relocation to Port Hedland (if required).
