Draughtsman

• Drafters prepare technical drawings and plans, which are used by production to build, repair or improve mining equipment.
• Drafts detailed drawings of machinery and mechanical devices, indicating dimensions and tolerances, fasteners and joining requirements, and other engineering specifications.

 REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Post secondary school training in Drafting and/or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Highly proficient level computer skills including Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Syspro advantageous.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

• Minimum with 2 years of drafting experience in a similar environment.
• Skills in drafting and mechanical drawing, high level of knowledge in drafting standards, science, mathematics and engineering technology.
• Electrical background. 
• CAD system experience, preferably Pro-Engineer / Pro-Intralink.

JOB DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS 

• Generate new and existing engineering detail drawings in the form of free – hand sketches, hand drawn drawings and drawing using the CAD system.
• Complete parts books, operators and technical manuals, control documents and drawings as described in the company standards. 
• Be able to work with Company’s business system (SYSPRO) regarding engineering matters, i.e. Bill of materials, technical notes.
• Parts numbering system.
• Liaise with production to ensure the most economical methods of manufacture are built into the product at the design and detail stage.
• Attend to field of service and customer queries relating to the current product range.
• Prepared to accept other reasonable requests such as underground requests and site visits, etc.
