Introduction

A leading manufacturer of steel roofing and related products based in boksburg requires the services of a dynamic maintenance fitter that is driven by challenge!

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3-5 years current working experience with strong focus on electrical maintenance /plc systems.

Minimum requirements

  • N3 qualification
  • 3-5 years experience in heavy industry - either manufacturing or mining environment
  • Trade test certification
  • Electrical engineering knowledge and experience is extremely important
  • 2-3 year completed apprenticeship
  • Trade test certificates
  • Experience in overhead cranes preferable
  • Own vehicle essential

Job specification

Candidate will be responsible for the following

  • Attend to all electrical & mechanical plant maintenance and installations on plc systems.
  • Preventative maintenance planning and executing - inhouse
  • Develop plans to increase plant efficiency - inhouse
  • Employee relations
  • Ohs management
  • Production outputs

Candidate should be

  • Self starter
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical /fault finding
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to apply own initiative and exercise judgement
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Efficient and disciplined with strong work ethic
