Fleet Mechanic

Company specialising in Rental, Repairs and Sales of Platforms, Telehandlers and accessories to all facets of the construction, industrial, transport, entertainment and mining industries has an outstanding vacancy open for a Fleet Mechanic.

Ensure the Company vehicle and truck fleet is properly maintained and serviced.

Requirements:

• Matric or Grade 12 certificate
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is essential
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic
• 3 - 5 Years working experience with regard to repairing and servicing trucks and motor vehicles
• Service fleet of trucks in line with the service schedule
• Service fleet of company cars/bakkies in line with the service schedule
• Identify what spares are required
• Commit to a time of repairing trucks or vehicles
• Provide all the relevant paperwork
• Cost savings on repairs where possible
• Adhere to breakdowns and assist where needed with replacing of flat tires (on big trucks) etc.
• Preventive measures to be in place in regard to breakdowns, i.e. check spare tires regularly
• Report cause of breakdown to manager if due to negligence from Driver
• Provide support where required by workshop
• Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with Internal staff
• Committed to accurate paperwork submissions
• Must be able to work systematically and deliver outputs within prescribed deadlines
• Able to communicate efficiently verbally and written in English
• Able to produce clear, understandable reports
• Must have flexibility to work overtime where required
• Must be available for standby duties
