Senior Associate Employment Attorney

The role will largely involve M&A transactions, contract negotiations, structuring and advising on transactions, mainly in the mining sector but also in property industry and other areas of general commercial activity. You will be involved in representing both listed and unlisted multi-nationals with their investments into South Africa and Africa, local and international mergers and acquisitions and general transactional work. The role involves advising clients on all the disciplines participating in complex commercial transactions and working on matters with other specialist teams in the firm such as tax, competition, labour, banking and finance, environment and litigation

You will be expected to assume responsibility for working closely with clients as well as managing elements of transactions. This means that you will have the opportunity to develop excellent transaction management abilities as well as developing exceptional technical skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Assist with negotiating and drafting of agreements
• Researching law and drafting opinions
• Advise on the various elements of merger and acquisition transactions and other types of commercial matters attended to by the team
• Attend to smaller matters and aspects of larger matters independently
