Technical Consultant

Introduction

Our client in the Engineering/ Mining Industry is seeking the expertise of a Technical Consultant to join their team.

Salary is highly negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Com or B.Sc degree from a mainstream university
  • Will consider a similar type of diploma in certain cases.
  • Also needs to be a reputable technicon
  • Software Development- 2 to 3 years

Skills / Competencies 

Preferably a working knowledge and/ or supported of one of the following: 

  • IBM Rational Jazz tools, e.g. Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Requirements Composer
  • IBM Rational ClearCase, Team Foundation Server, Subversion, CVS, PVCS
  • IBM Rational ClearQuest, Jira, ChangeMan, Bugzilla
  • IBM BuildForge, Maven, Team City
  • Some development experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse IDE’s, Can write scripts in either JavaScript, VB Script, Pearl, etc.

Key Performance Areas

  • Understanding of the software development process
  • Understand administration of development environments
  • Will work on large software development sites where Rational, Microsoft or Open Source tools is being used
  • Need to advice and implement new installations of these tools
  • Must keep abreast of new releases of these tools and its roadmap for the future
