Job Specification

• This position requires the candidate to carry out repairs, maintenance and services on company platform, vehicles and trucks. 
• The technician is requested to perform his/her duties in a professional and safe manner.

Requirements:

• Matric or Grade 12 certificate or relevant NQF level 4 qualification
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is essential
• Trade Certificate with Red Seal
• 3 to 5 years technical experience as an Artisan/Technician
• Assess status of machines besides normal PDI
• Identify what spares are required
• Commit to a time of converting red to green standard
• Rework machines to be turned to green standard
• Provide all the relevant paperwork
• Discipline and productivity
• Cost savings on repairs of red :repair versus new parts fitments
• Daily and weekly feedback on work performance to Workshop Foreman
• Ensure machines are packed within predefined yard areas
• Ensure yard is kept clean
• Must have strong numerical skills
• Must have flexibility to work overtime where required
• Must be available for standby duties
• Able to communicate efficiently verbally and written in English
• Report writing; networking and relationship building

Qualifications:

• Relevant Degree (Engineering, Procurement, Civil Engineering, Business, Legal or Commercial)
• 5-8 years experience in administering large contracts in a procurement environment
• A minimum 5-10 years experience in tendering and contract maintenance.
• Experience in market research and industry analysis.
• At least 10 years experience in purchasing
• 2 years managerial experience in a similar position
• Strong administration and negotiation skills – Essential
• Computer literate – Essential
