Responsibilities of the role will include for concurrently providing exceptional services, support and designs to the Rock Engineering team on a variety of challenging Projects. Offer innovative and specialized solutions to internal and external clients. You will be expected to play an active role in business development, networking and building long term client relations.

Your strong client liaison and consulting skills will allow you to develop, network and strengthen the company’s long term business relationships. With your high level skills and proven technical capabilities you will provide mentorship to staff. Your refined project management skills will allow you to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.

Job Requirements:

• Support the extension of technologies and methodologies to the wider range of Mining Services product and service offerings.
• Raise the profile of the group.
• Improve ability to deliver quality, on time and within budget.
• Degree within rock mechanics, mining, engineering, engineering geology or geotechnical engineering   M.Sc or PhD will be advantageous
• Professional Engineer advantageous
• Extensive mining experience essential  
• Minimum 5 – 8 years experience within coal and other hard rock mines and soft rock mining
• Extensive underground experience essential

Demonstrate theoretical and practical experience in project management and consultancy at mid level, including managing client relationships, projects, and working with other teams of highly experienced rock engineers.

Knowledge and experience of ground engineering in Africa.
