Logistics Manager

Our client is a large mining contracting company with several thousand employees and they require an experienced Logistics Manager who will be take charge of the companies transport and logistics. Some of this encompasses cross-border movement of goods by road so knowledge of freight forwarding and clearing is essential.
This person will be responsible for a fleet comsisting of 6 low beds; 7 crane trucks, and 15 heavy duty trucks as well as oversee a fleet of 600 LDV's. The successful candidate will be 2nd in charge in the Logistics and Supply Chain department and he / she must be able to take care of the warehousing, receiving, and despatch and get involved with the buying side if necessary.
 A personality showing good common sense, with a practical commercial background would be a top contender. SAP is an added advantage but not essential. The applicants must have seriously good credentials and qualifications to qualify for an interview. A through knowledge in mining supply chain would be a strong value add. This individual must be meticulous and organised with a strong personality.
