Project Automation Specialist I

Overall Purpose of Job:

• The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of maximizing the efficiency of the project team and achieving the project goals through the best application of automation technology tools and methods.

Primary Job Duties/Functions:

• Under general supervision of the office Automation Manager, provide technical support for all project and office support requirements, project setup and configuration or special project modifications required for the MasterPlantTM technology including the Computer Integrated Engineering (CIE), Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), data warehouse, Project Collaboration System (PCS), or other project Automation Technology utilized. Utilizes effective knowledge sharing behaviors.
• Works with the Project Information Manager (PIM) to analyze any technical implementation or configuration issues for the MasterPlant technology.
• Works under the guidance of a more senior Project Automation Specialist (PAS) to analyze and evaluate the MasterPlantTM technology support and implementation requirements.
• Assists IT in evaluating technology impact to [Company] infrastructure and systems
• Other related duties/functions as assigned

Working Conditions:

• On-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office facilities and exposure to moving, mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and various levels of outside weather, and/or
• Generally favorable indoor office workspace

Basic Job Requirements

• Provide System Analyst Support for FGG Project and Business applications. Work with End Users to determine new system requirements, prepare requirements documentation, develop test and implementation plans, conduct testing and implement new software changes. Assist Users in developing training documentation and conducting training. Provide End User support for the applications. May include Report development with Cognos, SQL Reporting Service or Crystal Reports, and/or application development with tools such as QuickBase, Excel or MS Access.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field plus 2 years’ experience as a Systems Analyst providing application support or system maintenance, or 5 years’ experience as a Systems Analyst providing application support or system maintenance.

• Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment; must be able to work independently and as part of a Team; must have good application technical skills including the use of SQL, MS Excel/Access, report writing software; must be able to work with End Users to develop requirements, test and implementation plans; good written and oral communication skills.
