New Product Development Engineer

• Tyco Valves & Controls is the world's largest manufacturer of industrial valves and controls products. Its companies manufacture fully integrated lines of superior quality products for every market it serves, including the mining, chemical, power, and oil field industries.
• We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Design Engineer who will report to the Global Product Engineering Manager.

Organization And Position Summary:

• This position will report directly to the Global Product Engineering Manager. The NPD Design Engineer will design and value-engineer all-new or redesign existing specialty knife gate valves according to specifications provided by global product management.

Major Responsibilities:

• Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
• Design all-new products as required, as well as continual product improvements.
• Work hands-on with the R&D Technician and others to assemble, test and troubleshoot new and existing products as part of the on-going new product development process.
• Develop testing and validation programs for new and existing products.
• Plan, execute, and complete engineering projects, including appropriate communication of status, concerns, and results.
• Some travel, including international is required.

Qualifications/Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive experience performing engineering design work in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the valves industry; may consider a recent mechanical engineering graduate.
• Must have experience with using SolidWorks, CosmosWorks
• Strong leadership and influencing skills.
• Candidates should have excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational and planning skills; and the ability to achieve results through others in a team-based environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer service aptitude.
• Demonstrated leadership skill and ability to implement projects.
• Proficiency in the standard Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with a stage-gate product development process preferred.
