Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary

  • This position is responsible for supporting the Architecture and Software Segment (Group) of[Company] ). This position will work closely with Group, OES, GSM, Business Unit, and Rockwell Automation Headquarters Finance personnel, and Department and Functional leaders within the Group.
  • Participates in the financial analysis and report preparation of actual and forecasted results for the Group, and Group HQ Departments and Functions, with comparison to Prior Forecast, Plan and Prior Year. Independently perform in-depth financial analyses and studies, and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Support Business Unit and Group reporting and analysis by coordinating various information gathering activities within the Group as assigned. Process improve duties and activities over time. Lead and participate in cross functional project teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide financial analysis, information, and interpretation to Group and Business Unit management.
  • Accumulation of the necessary information to perform meaningful analysis, and producing related monthly Business, Group, Department, and Function variance analysis as requested.
  • Process improve and streamline activities of the Group Finance function.
  • Coordination of information gathering activities for Group internal and Rockwell Automation Headquarters requests. E.g. Investment Spending, YE Schedules, AEIP changes, etc.
  • Preparation, coordination, and analysis of the Quarterly QPR for the Group and related Businesses. Preparation of QPR presentation and related schedules as required by [Company] headquarters and Group Leaders.
  • Preparation, coordination, and analysis of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the Group and related Businesses. Preparation of AOP presentation and related schedules required by RA Headquarters and Group Leaders.
  • Ability to independently take on new responsibilities.
  • Requires strong self-initiative to continually expand knowledge, and process improve own activities and duties.
  • Willingness to actively participate as a team leader and team member.
  • Listens to ensure most reasonable and effective coordination takes place.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Assist Group departments, functions and Business Units with financial performance analysis and reporting.
  • Seek challenging project assignments with significant business impact.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in customer needs and focus.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing financial systems.
  • Ensures thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct, and trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or BA in Finance or Accounting, MBA and/or CPA desirable.
  • Minimum two years of finance and accounting with emphasis in financial analysis, management reporting and process improvements. Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion, SAP).
