Shift Manager - Unloading

Job Description
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Administration of the [Company] safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the operating facility.
• Coordination and direction of the safe, efficient and economical operation of the facility.
• Utilization of management skills to supervise, direct and coordinate the efforts of employees assigned to the operating facility to maximize operating efficiencies with minimum interruption.
• Implementation of the production plan by coordinating material movement and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Other administrative activities may include scheduling / paying crews, completing production reports, and other reporting as necessary.
• Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year. Therefore, this position may require rotating shift work, as well as weekend and/or holiday work.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge in a heavy industrial environment

Preferred experience:

• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience working in an industrial environment
• Possession of a current Coast Guard issued pilots license (Master of Towing Vessels upon Western River)
• River (brown water) experience with barges
• Knowledge/and hands on experience in barge fleeting and harbor management.
• Knowledgeable in U.S. Coast Guard and Army Corp of Engineer rules and regulations.
