Shift Manager - Mine Operations
Job Description
- [Company] includes two open pit mines and processing facilities in Northern MN (Minntac in Mt. Iron and Keetac in Keewatin) and has the following vacancy at the Keetac facility:
Mine Operations Shift Manager:
- This position reports directly to the Area Manager of the Mine and requires a Bachelor's or technical college degree plus two or more years of supervisory experience. In addition, the successful candidate must be independent and have the ability to make sound operating and mechanical decisions with little input at times from other managers.
- The responsibilities of a Shift Manager include, but are not limited to, overseeing the shift operating crews in the Mine and Crusher. This position is also responsible for administering the [Company] Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the assigned facility. The Mine Operations Shift Manager coordinates the production activities and directs supervision of crews varying in size.
Requirements:
- The preferred candidate will be knowledgeable in taconite mining, and processing operations as well as have a maintenance/mechanical background in mining or related industrial equipment. The candidate must also have supervisory experience in a production environment.
- All successful candidates are subject to background checks, pre-employment physical examinations, and drug and alcohol screening.
