Lead Floorhand

Co is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Floorhand to join our award winning 
team.  

Co is Australia's leading integrated energy and mineral services company we operate continuous contracts 
with some of Australia's largest companies.  

This role is a field based opportunity. Applicants must be eligible to work permanently in Australia. 
Reporting to the Rig Manager, the position will be responsible for operating rig equipment during rig operations 
ensuring jobs are completed safely and efficiently, within regulatory requirements.

Some key tasks of the position are: 
• Effective operation of rig equipment  
• Assist with drilling operations such as tripping pipe, using tongs and elevators 
• Assist Derrickhand with mud mixing operations 
• Ensure equipment is generally maintained and serviced to company policy and industry regulations.  
• Assist in rig up and rig down procedures 
• Ensure rig floor is clean and all tools are collected 
• Perform other manual tasks as directed by your driller  
• Comply with all company and client policy and procedures including adherence to all HSE requirements.  Required skills, experience and knowledge: 
• Accredited certifications (Onshore Oil and Gas) or the willingness to undertake this program as part of 
ongoing skills development processes.  
• Experience working as a Floorhand 
• Mechanical ability and experience in operating plant and equipment 
• Interest in working outdoors in remote locations 
• Good physical condition, strength, and emotional stamina  
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently and think ahead to the next operation 
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and under supervision  
• Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance, HSE, equal employment opportunity, and antidiscrimination practices as applied to the oil and gas industry 
• Knowledge and understanding of rig emergency response procedures 
• Current C class drivers license (HR licence a preference)
