A Glasgow based multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its team
The role will involve:
• Arranging and co-coordinating site investigations.
• Preparing Stage I and Stage II interpretative reports with recommendations for foundations,
• contamination remediation and soil gas protection measures.
• Inspecting and approving foundation and remediation works on site during construction.
• Preparing Voluntary Action Remediation Statements (VARS) in support of planning submissions to local authorities.
• Liaising with local authority Contaminated Land Officers and SEPA to agree remediation strategies.
• Preparation of specifications and designs for remediation.
• Inspecting and approving foundation and remediation works on site during construction.
• Validating and preparing final reports for remediation works.
• Specification and co-ordination of Waste Acceptance Criteria ( WAC) testing and the classification of soils for removal off site.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Degree in geology, environmental sciences, civil engineering or equivalent.
• Experience of providing environmental engineering advice and ground investigation reports in connection with new build developments for a number of years.
• Experience in dealing directly with local authorities and SEPA regarding land remediation proposals.
• Experience of inspecting and reporting for the purpose of validation of remediation works.
• Experience undertaking ground investigation works with soil and minerals in accordance with BS5930:1999, Amendment 1, BS EN ISO 14688 and BS EN ISO 14689.
• Experience of managing ground investigation contracts in accordance with BS10175, SISG specification, BS5930 and BS1377.
