Intermediate Mechanical Engineer - Coal

This growing coal producer is seeking to appoint a highly proactive and Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer to work directly with the Engineering Management team. The primary focus of this role is to provide technical support within the maintenance department; ultimately ensuring maximum safety, uptime and profitability. 

The role requires a confident, self motivated engineer who is looking to build on their vocational training whilst working for a QLD coal producer or contractor. With a high level of interpersonal skill, you will thrive on the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Engineering and Maintenance including; 

• Assisting in development of shutdown plans.
• Assisting in development of long term maintenance plans.
• Predictive maintenance and reliability management initiatives.
• Preparation of Cost Benefit Analysis for CAPEX projects.
• Risk assessments, life cycle costing and best practice evaluation.

As a dynamic engineer who is committed to their career in the Queensland coal industry, other attributes that will define the ideal candidate are; 

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools including MS Project.
• Knowledge and use of SAP as maintenance planning tool.
• Demonstrated knowledge/exposure to heavy mobile equipment maintenance.
• Experience in working out Cost Benefit Analysis.
• Experience in working out Net Present Values.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of QLD Coal Mining Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
