Our client is a mining consulting force behind an extensive range of worldwide projects, providing innovative and practical solutions for its clients.With offices in Canada and Australia they are currently expanding their team to better serve North American and international customer base.

We have a fantastic opportunity in Vancouver for a Principal Geologist. We are looking for an ambitious career driven individual who is keen to build on their mine production and design expertise by working on complex and innovative projects.

The Role:

The Company seeks Principal Geologist to join their local team in Vancouver.  The right person will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-commodity team working with well-known leaders in the mining consulting industry. You will have strong skills in mining software packages, resource estimation techniques, geostatistical methods, and have an aptitude to mentor, train, and share your experiences. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Geological interpretation in precious and base metals environments.
  • Resource modelling using industry standard software package. Competency in the use of Datamine and Surpac will be well regarded.
  • Statistical and geostatistical analysis and knowledge of sampling/assaying QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to identify and apply appropriate resource estimation techniques.
  • Familiarity with the JORC Code and other national reporting standards.
  • Commensurate with industry experience, an ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.

The Candidate:

Applicants for this role must have the following:

  • Degree in Geology with 10+ years of sound geological and resource estimation experience in a variety of environments.
  • Membership of a professional organization that enables Competent Person status under the JORC Code or similar national reporting system.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
