Senior Mining Engineer Open Pit

We are looking for a well rounded Senior Mining Engineer with a background in Open Pit mining and that enjoys mentoring others.

This growing global Mining Company with its Canadian operation based in BC over see Canada, some of the US operations and Europe. Their philosophy is to promote within to create staff retention.  Working for this global player will allow you to advance your career here in Canada or one of their global operations.

Position Summary

  • The ability to provide and design operational criteria to the mining teams within water management facilities, pits, dumps, and infrastructure foundations and other ongoing operational needs.
  • The ability to manage, lead and develop the mine site mining team in a safe work environment
  • The ability to schedule, plan, optimize, and develop sequence phases, of road design, equipment selection, and project cost estimation.
  • The ability to manage contractors and consultants with the overall mine operations
  • Have a strong background in for, regulatory applications for operational need.
  • Strong background in health, safety and environmental with respects to environmental standards, safety procedures, health programs for mines

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mine Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • 8+ years mine engineering experience
  • A thorough knowledge of mine planning systems is essential
  • Knowledgeable in computerized pit optimization and design
  • Strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills, exceptional reporting and presentation skills
