Senior Geotechnical Technician

Role Summary:

Our Client is a leading global company providing consulting, design, and construction services in earth, environment, and related areas of energy. They are looking to add a Sr. Geotechnical Technologist/Technician to join their mine waste and environment division. To become a part of their GTA Operations in the Mississauga, Ontario location. Some of the responsibilities and duties will be to work with Jr. to Sr. Geotechnical colleagues on a variety of projects, with particular emphasis on geotechnical and foundations engineering for mining projects.

Generic Duties And Responsibilities:

• Supervising geotechnical investigations;
• Field monitoring/testing of various construction materials;
• Technical review and input during construction;
• Client liaison;
• Report writing;
• Travelling and work rotations on remote mining projects.
• Excellent computer skills in Word / Excel / Adobe programs

Skills Set & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of construction monitoring, materials testing and geotechnical engineering experience.
• Extensive field experience in concrete, earthworks, with a strong focus on site / foundation inspections, drilling supervision, dam construction, etc.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), including proven capabilities in writing geotechnical reports and technical communications.
• Lab testing and/or materials type testing an asset.
• CAD/drafting experience is an asset.
• Detail oriented with emphasis on quality of work
• Education
• Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or Degree.
• Project Manager (PM) or PM in training an asset.  CET designation (preferred).

Salary Rate : $80 - 90 k/per annum
