Currently their Toronto office has opportunities for a Senior Mechanical Draftsperson to join their Engineering and Design Team and service their mining engineering clients across Canada and the Americas. Projects will include aspects of civil, structural and materials handling engineering with small groups working closely alongside one another. The Senior Mechanical Draftsperson should be self-motivated and able to work on projects of varying complexity ranging from simple line diagrams through to detailed drawings on multi-disciplined engineering projects.

Reporting to the Design Office Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Adhere to all drawing office procedures and document control standards.
• Multi-discipline capabilities and be familiar with local engineering standards.
• Ability to interact with process, mechanical, electrical and civil engineers.
• Understand and interpret process flow diagrams and piping & instrument diagrams.
• Produce general arrangement and detail drawings as directed by the Design Office Manager.
• Travel may be required for short durations.

Requirements:

• Mechanical engineering technician/technology diploma from a recognized community college.
• 10 + years of experience in any or all of the following:
• Materials Handling Process Plant Design.
• Structural Steel Design/Drafting.
• Plate Work Design/Drafting.
• Piping Design/Drafting.
• Civil Design/Drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
• Possess good problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate these ideas to peers and engineers.
