Our global client is one of the worlds largest, publicly owned EPCM companies. If you have experience in mechanical engineering with mining and minerals, please apply for this role.
The Role:
The Company is seeking a number of Mechanical Engineers to join their team in Greater Vancouver. They currently have contract openings available for Lead, Senior and Intermediate level Engineers. Under general supervision, the Mechanical Engineers may be responsible for:
- Performing and checking most types of calculations and designing using both computer-aided and manual techniques.
- Providing assistance to the Lead Engineer, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities, etc.
- Organizing/planning jobs, writing/reviewing specifications, writing technical bid evaluations, preparing/maintaining schedules, developing/monitoring estimates and manpower forecasts, assigning work, working with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities.
- Utilizing vendor data and working with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs.
- Utilizing/performing squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.
- Travel, as required.
- Performing self-check of completed work, developing self-confidence, and providing guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
The Candidate:
- Applicants for this role must have a degree in Engineering and be registered or eligible to register with APEGBC.
- Mineral processing experience is required.
- Must have minimum 4 + years of related experience.
- A team player mindset is a requirement.
