World leader in Transportation Equipment and Systems, the organisation are specialist in the design, supply, construct, installation, commissioning and testing of Rail Transportation Equipment and Systems including Power Supply, Signalling, Control, Telecommunications and Rolling Stock.


Reporting into the Executive Manager for Projects you will lead all technical project teams from concept to completion ensuring that the project is executed within the required timescales with economic results employing product quality and gaining customer satisfaction.


Requirements:


•Degree Educated - Engineering 
•At least 15 years experience in the Rail Sector of which 5 should be at project management level
•Chartered/Professional Engineer in Engineering with Project Management accreditation or current plans to acquire accreditation
•Proven experience in Performance Management, a strong team leader with the ability to coach and mentor a team
•A good communicator in all aspects, must have well developed interpersonal skills, must be a respected leader
Duties:




•Responsible for total project profit and loss and creates additional business opportunities out of the project delivery
•Accountable for the project phases of design, implementation, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and handover
•Leads the project within the defined time, budget and quality framework to the satisfaction to the customer using processes and reporting outputs and economic indicators to manage performance
•Ensures commercial contract conditions and timelines are met, communicating regularly with the project officer and able to report at any time on financial figures and project status 
•Responsible for the optimisation of cash flow, develops cost control strategy and implements cost management for the project in close cooperation with the responsible manager
•Develops contract strategy towards the customer, ensures that the intent of the contract document is met, monitored and controlled in accordance with enabling processes
•Identifies, evaluates and assesses the impact of variations to contract or changes with respect to cost, project plan, resources and profit realisation
•Raises non-conformance reports (NCR) for items identified including variances to time and costs, implements corrective actions (CAR) as agreed
•Ensures that Project Plans are established that are implemented and monitored, manages the Master Program Schedule and project critical path and handles all planning elements and milestone attainments
•Seeks active feedback post project from customers, members of staff and reviews project performance targets
•Allocates the necessary human resources for the project in both qualitative and quantitative approach
•Manages Risk - identifies, monitors and assesses all risk factors using the development register, devising risk mitigation strategies and early reporting on risks that impact the project/sector/company
•Ensures all work is completed within Quality Standards and within the OH&S framework, accepts full responsibility for OH&S including audits, timely reporting and incident investigation
