Environmental Advisor - Port

  • Environmental Advisor - Port Hedland Operations 
  • FIFO 8/6 Roster
Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, you will form part of the Environmental team that ensures compliance is met with relevant ministerial conditions as well as Fortescue's Environmental Management Plans.

Your duties will include:
  • Participate in audits and inspections to determine the level of compliance with environmental and regulatory obligations and commitments
  • Identify and communicate improvement strategies to maintain environmental compliance
  • Ensure reporting of all environmental incidents are undertaken in accordance with Fortescue's incident reporting procedures
  • Review and update the environmental management system processes
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
  • Degree in Environmental Management / Science or a relevant discipline
  • Experience working within environmental management either in mining or government departments.
  • A solid understanding of Australian Commonwealth and WA Environmental Legislation
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and results to management
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Experience in the resources sector would be desired but not essential
