Solomon Mine Project FIFO 3/1

Our company requires a HSE Advisor.  This is a rare opportunity to be on the Owner's Team for the Solomon Mine Expansion Project. Reporting to the Senior HSES Manager this role is responsible for the supervision of major contractor to ensure that design, technical and quality standards are achieved safely and according to time and budget.

Key requirements:
  • Extensive experience as HSE Advisor, preferably within the construction and mining
  • Minimum 5 years in a construction HSE management role working on large scale projects valued $100M  - $500M
  • Experience in HSER system development and implementation in a major project based environment
  • Diploma is desirable and/or Cert IV in  Occupational Health and Safety
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Familiar with appropriate statutory codes and OHS Regulations (MSIA)
Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice and support to the FMG teams and major contactors in the implementation and auditing of the HSEC Plans and procedures
  • Interface and lead Top Tier Contractors and undertake effective workplace audits, inspections and risk assessments as required
  • Be involved with incident investigations and development of procedural improvement action plans
  • Conduct regular reviews of work procedures to identify improvements in hazard control
  • Assist with the development of HSE Plans and Specification for FMG projects
  • Develop and conduct appropriate site induction training for all FMG employees and contractors personnel
  • Report regularly to the HSE Manager on all HSE issues and identify any existing or potential problems which may affect performance of the contract
