About our Client
With multiple mining operations in production across Australia, this company is quickly becoming a leading producer in the market due to its high focus on company growth and staff development. Due to recent growth and expansion, the company is looking for a Mining Engineer to specialise in short & medium term planning for their open pit operation.

Job Description
  • Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Open pit Mining Engineer will be responsible for short to medium term planning works and related activities. Specific duties include;
  • Pit design
  • Short & Medium term planning and optimisation
  • Strong interaction with production geologists to optimise production activities
  • Management of contractors
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer role, you will ideally posses;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar
  • At least 5 - 7 years experience in open cut mining, preferably with some exposure to draglines preferable 
  • Strong technical short and medium term planning background
  • Background within coal industry is essential
