Electric Engineers: Power Systems

My client, who provides world-class management; engineering and specialist technical service's for government and private sector clients globally, is looking for Electric Engineers: Power Systems. 

Minimum Requirements

  • BTech, BSc or BEng (Electrical) 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Senior post: 8+ years relevant experience in power systems (substations; cables; overhead lines; master planning)
  • Junior post: 3+ years relevant experience 
  • BTech, BSc or BEng (Electrical)

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

Desirable: 
  • Eskom design and capital programme processes; consulting experience
  • A Master 's degree in this field of specialisation would be advantageous
  • Professional registration
  • Technical knowledge and ability to interact with clients
  • Run meetings, develop proposals and submit tender documents
  • Be able to work in a team and be able to manage project teams
Design of distribution substations: 
  • Layout design; earth materials design; insulation co-ordination & lighting protection; Corona protection; power transformers; reactors; capacitor banks; instrument transformers; FACTS; MV metal clad switchgear; MV switchgear, mini subs & RMU's; LV switchgear; stat ion auxiliary systems; battery & standby system
