Mining Section Managers

Our client is a world class leader in producing precious metals and other minerals. They are listed on various stock exchanges around the world. They employ thousands of employees worldwide.

They are seeking for someone with the following:

Educational Requirements:

• MUST HAVE a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
• B Tech Mining or a National Higher Diploma or Bsc Mining Engineering Degree or in Metalliferous Mining.
• Relevant and sufficient 4 years experience in production management and preferably as a Section Manager
• Must be in possession of a valid Certificate of Fitness
• Valid South African drivers licence
• Good employee relations and communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Must be Medically fit
• No major sensory restrictions

Role description:

• The Section Manager holds a legal appointment in terms of regulation 2.6.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act, responsible for injury free sustainable production from his/her area of responsibility in the underground workings of the mine.

Key responsibilities:

• Safety and Health of all employees, in accordance with legal requirements and Safety Management System.
• Development and maintenance of credible and sustainable production plans and financial budgets.
• The safe and efficient execution of stoping, development and logistics operations.
• Allocation and optimization of resources.
• Human Resource development and of HDSA’s in particular
• Co-ordination of projects.
• Effective cost control of mining operations
• Contribution to the effective management of the overall Production Area
