Industrial Cleaning - General Manager

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATION)

  • BSC Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or higher diploma ( BTech or MTech)
  • Management qualification, financial management course.
  • Sound working knowledge of all applicable & SHEQ Policies & legislation. 
  • 10 years engineering experience and additionnal 5 years senior management experience within the Petrochemical, metallurgical, power generation, mining or industrial sector.
  • At least 5 years proven track record in a managerial role.
  • Drivers license code 08

JOB PURPOSE

  • To manage the Groups'Industrial Cleaning business unit to include Hazmat and Absorbents and ensure profitable revenue growth is achieved and that service levels meet client expectations together with operational compliance.
  • To take overall responsibility for response operations and projects to national & international incidents as well as planned operations.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in line with the relevant legislation, company policies and procedures as well as ISO standards.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

(JOB REQUIREMENTS)

  • International expansion of the business unit.
  • Strategy formulation and implementation
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Division on strategy, preferred suppliers, updated technology, training requirements and execution and utilization of resources.
  • Define and drive overall customer satisfaction and revenue growth indicators and levels with the Sales Team.
  • Capex motivation, expansion and prepare documents for approval
  • Commercially secure business.
  • Manage Regional Industrial Cleaning Managers and sub contractors to ensure national compliance and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that monthly financials, through the FM are accurate.
  • Manage and drive cross-functional relationships with other Commercial, Logistics and landfill divisions within the group.
  • Own operational commercial processes. Lead and cultivate a culture of Commercial department Values and integrity.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with applicable EHS policies and procedures.
  • Drive change initiatives as required to improve efficiencies and execute on business commitments
  • Comply with operational and legal requirements with regard to Health and Safety, Sasol, ISO etc.
  • Ensure accurate projections are done for weekly forecast indicators, quarterly RPP’s and annual budgets.
  • Ensure that an effective open, honest and constructive communication channel exists between the various regions, departments and divisions
  • Ensure that all tenders nationally are costed accurately from an operational as well as a cost perspective and are submitted in a professional manner.
  • Ensure that competitor profiles are kept current and that all changes to applicable Legislation are noted and communicated.
  • Manage response to National and international incidents and planned operations - overall project coordination, management and liaison
  • Internal and external audit facilitation
  • Maintain good working relationships with stakeholders (insurance companies) and authorities -DEA and DWA
  • Ensure that good relationship exists between the divisions' key personnel and Key account Key personnel.
