Specialist II, Material Management

Overall Purpose of Job:

• Under Direct Supervision (including using independent judgment within established guidelines) by Material Management of Fluor or its subsidiaries (indicated as “the Company”), the purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of delivering value through world-class procurement and material management systems, capabilities, and processes by leveraging advanced sourcing methods; global market knowledge and Fluor’s global purchasing volume to obtain the best pricing, quality and service for our clients

Primary Job Duties/Functions:

• Maintains material management logs and inputs material management commitment-related information into databases (such as MatMan, SAP, etc.)
• Performs the accurate, timely, and cost-effective identification, sourcing, buying, delivering, warehousing, installation, and commissioning of material and equipment required to support the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) effort
• Develops negotiation strategies, as appropriate
• Interfaces with Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) and Logistics as necessary on assigned Requests for Quotations (RFQ) or Purchase Order (PO) packages
• Previous experience in booking cargo for large contracts, knowledge of Fluor's Ocean Carrier Terms and Conditions
• Strong knowledge of international logistics
• Assists other material management personnel, as required
• Meets Company expectations for attendance
• Other related duties/functions as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• High school degree with 4 - 6 years of related material management experience

Other Job Requirements

• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
