Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Position Summary
- This position is responsible for completing environmental and safety tasks in support of the [Company] environmental and safety policies. Supports the HQ Quality Environment and Safety Strategy focused on compliance and continual improvement activities. Provide environmental and safety technical resources to [Company] locations to assure compliance with government regulations and [Company] requirements. This position will have responsibly for the Champaign, IL location.
Functional Expertise:
- Support, implement and maintain the [Company] safety management system to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as [C] Rockwell Automation [C] policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary interface, for the Cleveland facilities, with government agencies for the purpose of understanding the regulations and to ensure compliance.
- Support, implement, maintain and modify where necessary Headquarters Health, Safety and Security policies and procedures and establish organization specific procedures to ensure compliance to the EHS regulations.
- Manage EHS training process for Mayfield Village and Mayfield Heights. Responsible for creating and maintaining training content, training matrix and deployment of training. Includes new employee orientation, computer based and classroom training.
- Provide technical support, input and coordination on EHS and Security issues that affect projects and processes at the Cleveland Facilities.
- Attend all regulatory and [Company] Control Systems required training in health and safety areas. Responsible for their own continued education and knowledge of governmental environmental regulations that may affect their facility.
- Complete required regulation and/or [Company] policy and procedures, and submit them on a timely basis and in a professional manner.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safety incident reporting, investigation and corrective action process for Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village.
- Establish written procedures and work practices, which ensure continued compliance with all EHS and Security permits and regulations.
- Implement and maintain an environmental management system, which includes a formal corrective action process. (For example ISO14000).
- Responsible for providing environmental and safety data to HQ EHS on a quarterly basis including energy, waste and other data.
- Conduct environmental, security and safety compliance self audits, supporting external audits and holding an annual review of the environmental management system with the management team.
- Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and understands the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Requires minimum two years’ experience in environmental and safety work.
