Mechanical Designer

Description:

Deliver mechanical design services that meet WorleyParsons, the client and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for generating layout drawings within Minerals and Metals industry using AutoPlant
• Working on a variety of project, to deliver design drawings and final construction/detail drawings, for engineering projects.
• Ensuring drawing packages are delivered within the project time schedule.
• Produce mechanical discipline deliverables to the agreed schedule.
• Apply recognized mechanical engineering design/drafting principles, accuracy and overall quality.
• Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
• Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member.

Requirements:

• 8+ years' experience in multi-disciplined design, working in the various facets of industrial, mining, chemical/minerals processing or other heavy engineering industries
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, P. Eng or eligibility is required
• Familiarity with Canadian Building Codes and mechanical engineering practices;
• Strong communication and technical writing skills;
• Flexibility to travel and work on site when required;

Reporting and Location:

• The position reports to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering.
• Opportunity exists in Mississauga, Ontario.
