Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Description:

Deliver structural engineering services that meet WorleyParsons, the client and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Arrange and supervise design drafting staff/functions for the work undertaken for civil/structural projects.
• Prepare structural calculations in accordance with the relevant Canadian and international codes and standards.
• Compliance with QA/safety/environment goals;
• Assist in sourcing new work and maintaining existing client base.
• Prepare proposals and estimate of man-hour budgets.
• Manage projects within budget and time constraints.
• Prepare Scope of Work Documentation.
• Prepare engineering reports.
• Prepare civil/structural project specifications.
• Site travel as required by project.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years experience in civil structural engineering with an emphasis on industrial, process and mining structures and foundations experience.
• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, P. Eng or eligibility is required.
• Familiarity with Canadian, US and international codes and civil/structural engineering practices.
• Skills in technical execution and management of work.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Foundation design for large rotating or vibrating equipment.
• Flexibility to travel and work on site when required.

Reporting and Location:

• The position reports to the Manager, Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Opportunity exists in Mississauga, Ontario.
