Senior Mechanical Designer (Material Handling)

Description:

Deliver material handling design and drafting services that meet WorleyParsons, the client and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Development of layouts for material handling systems;
• Development of intelligent 3D models of material handling systems using PDS or AutoPlant;
• Working on a variety of projects from few week commitments on conceptual studies to multiple month commitments on detailed engineering projects;
• Deliver design drawings and final construction/detail drawings for engineering projects within the project time schedule and budget;
• Produce discipline deliverables to the agreed schedule and budget;
• Apply recognized engineering design/drafting principles, accuracy and overall quality.

Requirements:

• The successful applicant shall have, as a minimum, tertiary qualification in Mechanical Drafting or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience with multi-disciplined Drafting, working in the various facets of industrial, mining, chemical/minerals processing or other heavy engineering industries. Experience with material handling systems  for minerals will be highly regarded;
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a user of either PDS or AutoPlant;
• A thorough knowledge of appropriate codes and standards;
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision;
• Site travel as required by project.

Reporting and Location:

• The position reports to the Manager, Minerals Handling.
• Opportunity exists in Mississauga, Ontario.
