Position Summary:
- Reports to Engineering Manager, North America.
Responsible for the following:
- The Field Engineer provides internal and field support for emulsion manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions:
- Successful implementation of engineered changes in a timely and safe manner.
- Specifies operational requirements.
- Writes operating procedures and trains operators for new plants and equipment.
- Decision Making Authority:
- Resolves operational issues; works independently on specifically scoped projects.
- Major Challenges:
- Multiple concurrent projects, communicating with internal and external teams, support of a wide geographic area, periods extensive travel.
- Other duties may be assigned within the capabilities of the successful candidate, as determined by management.
Requirements:
- Education: BS Engineering or equivalent experience (10+ years).
- Experience: 10+ years.
Technical:
- Knowledgeable in explosives technology.
- Familiar with equipment used in emulsion manufacturing.
- Knowledgeable in emulsion plant and bulk delivery operations.
- Must satisfy the requirements for “possessor of explosives” as defined by the BATF.
Role Competencies:
- Assists in design and upgrades to plants and equipment.
- Technical consultation for construction of plants and equipment.
- Initial operation of equipment and plants.
- Analysis of operational and equipment issues to assist in development of solutions.
- Team member for hazard studies and technical audits.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Management of multiple demands.
Work Environment & Physical Conditions:
- Performing job duties around high explosives and otherwise hazardous materials; ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, hard hat and ear protection, and safety harness) as required by site-specific requirements.
