Job Description:
Duties may include:
- Responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting including computer data entry. Identify, research, and resolve payment and/or billing discrepancies. Contact customers or other departments to resolve problems. Perform accounting and clerical functions associated with distribution of daily vendor checks and banking reports. Maintain records pertinent to the accounting functions. Perform auditing functions. Analyze general ledger accounts as assigned. Ensure invoices and purchase orders are processed accurately and all discounts are taken.
Requirements:
- Some college level accounting courses and/or equivalent accounts receivable, accounts payable, or accounting experience.
- Prior Empire accounting experience.
- Must have interpersonal and communication skills to assist customers in a positive, professional manner.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to plan and set priorities for accomplishing tasks and goals.
- Must be able to make sound, independent accounting judgments.
- Must be detail oriented to implement new procedures and analyze accounts.
- Must be able to use a calculator and keyboard by touch.
- Must have mathematical skills, compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Must be able to work unsupervised and monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software.
