Staff Water Resources Engineer

• The Water Division of ARCADIS is currently searching for an experienced Staff Engineer for Heavy Civil Water projects in our Houston, TX location. Projects may include work on water distribution systems and pumping stations, sewer collection systems and pumping stations, storm water systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants; developing designs, construction documents and specifications, as well as construction oversight and administration. The right candidate for this position is passionate about Water projects and enjoys both the pursuit of and then running with the job once the project starts.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• This position is for a Staff Engineer within the Water Heavy Civil Department.
• Duties include engineering activates for civil/structural engineering investigations, studies, analyses, and designs for water distribution systems and pumping stations, sewer collection systems and pumping stations, storm water systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Must have experience in design and construction of water structures.
• Experience with preparation of construction documents and management of engineering activities is required.
• Applicant must be able to work with and mentor junior staff to produce engineering drawings, specifications, bid packages, and cost estimates for projects.
• Ensure project compliance with all [Company] practices and quality standards.
• Facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects.
• Applicant should have excellent writing skills and will be expected to produce and review technical reports.
• Client Management skills - Will be part of team to present at client meetings, must have excellent verbal communication skills.

Basic and Required Qualifications:

• Minimum years of experience: 5-10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience with water/wastewater structures.
• Education required: Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineer.
• Registrations/Certifications required: Current PE License
• Skills required: Solid engineering experience with design and construction activities of water structures (i.e. water distribution systems and pumping stations, sewer collection systems and pumping stations, storm water systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants).

Additional and Preferred Qualifications:

• Education preferred: Masters Degree in Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineering.
• Registrations/Certifications preferred: Current Texas PE License
• Years’ experience preferred: 7 years of progressively responsible engineering experience with water/wastewater structures.
• Skills preferred: Client Management experience, along with required skills above.
• This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
• This position does not manage others.
