Financial Analyst
- The Financial Analyst will be reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and guiding, in the appropriate direction, in order to assist in making sound investment decisions by gathering financial information, analyzing financial information, and using that information to make recommendations and goals.
- Additional responsibilities that the FA will have will include compiling and analyzing financial models for the organization; creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; ensuring that financial information has been recorded accurately; and to identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management.
- The candidate will be working in an office environment and must possess strong organizational skills which will include the ability to coordinate the work and information gained from all resources. The Financial Analyst will also need to be familiar with a variety of financial concepts, practices, and procedures and will need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Specific Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial models for the organization
- Develop integrated revenue and expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations
- Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management
- Evaluate current or proposed sources of funds and recommend most economical source to management
- Perform special financial studies to present to management in conjunction with recommendations concerning proposed plans
- Evaluate data, develop financial plans, and present solutions to problems for which there is no established approach
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required
- Must have at least 4 to 7 years of business and financial analysis experience, oil and gas experience required
- Previous knowledge of a variety of financial concepts, practices, and procedures as well as contemporary practices, metrics, and assessment tools and concepts
Additional Qualifications
- Organization – Strong skills required including the ability to coordinate the work and information gained from all resources; must possess the ability to handle several different projects or requests with a plan and structure, while keeping them as individual requirements
- Business and Project Analysis – Requires the ability to gather information from various sources to identify opportunities and assess financial implications; demonstrates sound judgment in suggesting a course of action
- Creativity – Ability to develop new and unique approaches to new, existing, or traditional situations
- Comprehension – Has ability to understand and interpret regulations, policies, and related technical information
- Advanced to Expert knowledge of Excel
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, may lead and direct the work of others
- Must be able to create financial models and complex spreadsheets quickly and without errors
- Will perform a variety of complicated tasks
- No relocation offered
