Principal Construction Manager PM/CM
Description:
- The PMCM (Program Management/Construction Management)Division of [Company] is currently searching for an experienced Resident Engineer / Construction Manager for highway, bridge, interchange, and grade separation projects in Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County.
- Duties: Ensure compliance with contract specifications. Approve technical submittals. Respond to RFIs. Process Contract Change Orders. Supervise construction on highway, bridge, interchange, and grade separation projects to insure compliance with the plans, specifications and design. Oversee construction inspections for highway storm drain system, asphalt pavement, testing of materials, etc. Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies. Maintain the records and reports related to project. Manage CM team including but not limited to assistant RE, office engineer, project controls staff, quality assurance staff, materials testing and survey.
- The ideal candidate will have: 1. A current and valid California P.E. license, 2. Seven or more years of experience working on Caltrans, OCTA, SANBAG, RCTC or other agencies' highway, bridge, interchange, and grade separation construction projects as a Resident Engineer, 3. Experience on at least one transportation project as a Structures Rep.
- We are looking for an individual that has experience as an RE, Structures Rep, Project Manager, or Construction Manager employed by the CM firm, General Contractor, or directly with Caltrans, OCTA, SANBAG, RCTC, or a similar agency.
- The right candidate for this position is passionate about transportation construction projects and enjoys both pursuing and interviewing for projects, and then running the job as the RE/CM once the project has been won and starts.
- This RE/CM will be coordinating directly with the general contractor and negotiating change orders.
- The position will be located on project sites in Orange County, Riverside County, or San Bernardino County. Exact location depends upon project and candidate's preference.

Basic and Required Qualifications:
- Minimum years of experience: 7 or more years of experience as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on large (approx. $10M+) highway, bridge, interchange, or grade separation construction projects. 15+ years total experience on transportation projects.
- Registrations/Certifications required: Current and valid California P.E. license.
- Skills required: Highway, bridge, interchange, or grade separation construction experience. Experience directly coordinating and negotiating change orders.
Additional and Preferred Qualifications:
- Education preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a relevant field.
- Registrations/Certifications preferred: PMP certification, LEED AP, CCM, RA.
- This position does requires travel. Travel amount is negligible.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
