Senior Engineer

Overview:

• We are looking for a mid-level engineer who is interested in becoming a Project Manager.  This position would help lead project teams in the mining market segment.  Prior exposure to project management responsibilities and strong technical skills in civil, environmental, or mining engineering are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and implementation of project management plans
• Assist in the procurement of materials and resources necessary for the completion of the work
• Participate in reviewing programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness
• Continually evaluate, review and determine the most appropriate use of methodologies for best project performance
• Assist in the establishment of project objectives
• Maintain a preventive and contingent approach to project planning at all times
• Plan, maintain and monitor operation and completion activities involved in the Project
• Provide engineering and technical support to management and supervisory staff
• Plan, lead, organize and control project resources to ensure the requirements and project objectives are met on an ongoing basis

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience
• Strong planning, negotiation and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering specializing civil, environmental, or equivalent
• Commitment to excellence in safety and environmental management
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, project staff, and senior management
• Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office Suite
