Project Engineer — Infrastructure

This is a privately owned and growing contractor with a newly established Victorian presence following great success across other states of Australia.

Originally specialising in small-scale land development projects, the new Victorian business is diversifying and making worthy impact on other civil-related markets including: water infrastructure, capital works, earthworks on roads and bridge construction projects, etc. They are partnering with significant Tier 1s in the local market for some of their projects whilst also tendering for independent VicRoads work, etc. 

This company have quickly become an emerging force in the Melbourne civil construction field and are a company to watch throughout 2012. Turnover has quadrupled in the last 6 months and they are looking to double this again whilst growing staff numbers by 30% over the next 12 months. 

As part of these plans, they now require an experienced and ambitious Project Engineer to assist in the successful delivery of a range of projects. 

Projects are concentrated in the western regions of Victoria and not central Melbourne, but this may change over the course of the year. This is a long-term, permanent role and the right candidate will be provided with huge scope to progress their career and climb the ladder quickly once they have proved themselves.

To secure this position you will be a qualified Civil Engineer and have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

• Earthworks or civil infrastructure construction / delivery of projects up to $100M working for the contractor
• Ability to prepare financial reports including cost control, forecasted margin and cash flow
• Capability to manage complex projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong awareness of safety risks, contractual law and budgetary considerations
