Safety Officer - FIFO

  • Contract position
  • $60 - $80 per hour
  • FIFO roster - (To be discussed)
My client is an innovative construction company operating in the commercial and industrial sectors of WA and QLD. Due to growth and expansion they are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join their team.


The role involves the following duties:
  • Providing OHS advice and support to all personnel on site,
  • Identifying gaps and areas of non-compliance on safety systems
  • Workplace inspections, risk assessments and audits and generate communications to relevant personnel in order to maintain a safe working environment,
  • Attending and participating in shift change, Toolbox/Safety Meetings and when appropriate the daily production planning meeting,
  • Conducting site inductions as well as ensuring that full compliance has been met,
  • Assisting site management with incident investigations in accordance with site policies and requirements,
  • Manage the Permit to Work System.
  • Maintain all OH&S required Registers referenced in the Safety Management System.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
  • Mining and Construction experience - min 3-5 years in a similar position
  • Certificate IV in OH&S / Diploma in OH&S
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessments
  • Strong problem solving and lateral analytical skills,
  • Good professional communication skills, both written and oral and an ability to work in a remote area with a minimum of supervision
  • Sound working knowledge of commercial systems including, Word and Excel
  • In addition, you will have a strong desire to succeed, have high standards and attention to detail.
