Global consultancy dedicated to providing technical excellence and costing solutions for mining projects around the world. With several offices across Australia, the Brisbane office is expanding and a current requirement exists for a Principal Mining Engineer.


Job Description
This is an important role within the business reporting to the General Manager. As a senior member of multi-disciplined project teams, you will be providing a range of high level skills for consulting projects undertaken by the organization. It is essential in this role to monitor the scope of work and costs in line with proposals to the client, maintaining strong communications with clients and team members throughout each project.
Key accountabilities will include:
developing client relations by following up on leads provided by the Business Executive;
proposal planning and preparation and assisting with scope of work plans, allocation and development;
undertake negotiation of contracts and formalize variations in the scope of work as relevant.


The Successful Applicant
It is essential to demonstrate strong technical skills and a breadth of experience as a mining engineer, ideally with coal expertise. This position requires interface with all parties from the CEO to junior engineers as well as a wide range of clients and therefore it is important to show proven communication, negotiation and project management capabilities. Computer literacy in mine planning systems and/or geological packages is imperative to this position, in addition to strong spread sheet skills and knowledge of commercial concepts.
