  • Industry Leading Training and Mentoring
  • Initial 6 Month Contract
This global mining group operates an open pit mine in the Pilbara region of WA and has an opportunity for an Exploration Geologist to join a highly technical and long-standing team. Due to their expansion projects this contract role can continue well into 2012 for those looking for longer- term employment.

This Contract Exploration Geologist will assist with the evaluation and interpretation of various targets in & around their existing deposits. You will work on an 8:6 FIFO roster and will supervise the drilling contractor, logging RC chips, completing field mapping/sampling (including designing programmes), collection/input/review data and generate future drill programmes based on these results. Your computer skills will allow you to generate sections, input/manipulate data and assist with the ongoing development of the project resource models.

You will bring a Tertiary Qualification in Geology with recent experience in a field based role. Knowledge of exploration protocols and the ability to effectively supervise drilling activities will be essential. You will also be capable of working independently and some iron ore exposure will be an added bonus.
