Senior Human Resources Officer- Mt Gordon Operations

Located in Perth, our client is an Australian based mining company with a focus on copper production and exploration. They hold mining and copper exploration activities in both the Pilbara region WA, as well as the Mount Isa Block in QLD.

Due to current expansions and restructuring, our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Officer to join their team.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role is a permanent Fly-In-Fly-Out position on an 5:2, 4:3 roster to the Mount Gordon operation.

The Responsibilities;
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistent and in-line with business goals as well as compliant with relevant legislation,
  • Provide general assistance to the Human Resources Manager in the implementation of HR programs.
  • Ensure that the company’s recruitment processes and standards are complied with throughout the site,
  • Coordinate performance across the site,
  • Develop training planning/strategies on site whilst ensuring the effectiveness of these training deliveries by external RTO’s,
  • Work closely with head office HR and Managers regarding Remuneration and Benefits,
  • Coach and mentor on site HR Teams and provide support and guidance on a regular basis.
The Requirements;
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, coupled with a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Psychology or Commerce.
  • Possess supervision, leadership, team building, consulting, negotiating and facilitating skills,
  • Have strong relationship management skills
  • Possess practical knowledge in Fair Work Act and other relevant acts as well as ‘Employer of Choice’ practices,
  • Obtain expert knowledge of generalist HR best practice.
