OCE/Compliance Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and motivated OCE's to assist in the day to day operation of our world class open cut coal mine. Based in Central QLD and reporting to the Mine Manager, you will ensure a safe environment is maintained for all personnel within the surface excavation area. Your ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships will see you excel in a role that is vital to meeting the ongoing production needs of this site.

The role will see you:

• Liaise on a regular basis with the Planning, Production and Environmental teams to ensure that all mining activities are undertaken with regards to our strict HS&E guidelines
• Communicate with the Mine Safety Advisors to address safety issues relating Drill and Blast and Vehicle Activity within the Excavation area
• Assist in the development and review of SOP (Standard Operation Procedures) and JSEA (Job Safety Environmental Analysis) for major mining tasks
• Be proactive in seeking out and rectifying any unsafe situations that may exist within the Surface Excavation area
• Give visible input at workshops and toolbox/prestart meetings to ensure that safe work practices are an integral part of the day to day operations
• Completion of statutory inspections within the mining area, ensuring all mining activities are carried out in accordance with the companies Safety and Health Management System
• Ensure the mine site complies with all requirements of relevant government legislation relating to coal mining and Health and Safety.

You will require:

• A current QLD OCE Certification
• 5+ years open cut coal mining experience and a demonstrated ability to fulfil the statutory requirements of the OCE role
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
