This position is primarily responsible for providing direction and leadership in the establishment and implementation of consistent, compliant and leading practice Owner Operated Site Safety & Health Management Systems, strategies and programs to achieve our clients Safety and Health objectives for the transition project.
Other responsibilities for this role include:
Analyse, understand and communicate existing and emerging risks and trends in performance; provide governance and oversee compliance to regulations to ensure adherence with the Owner's Health and Safety Management Policy and Plans;
Provide Safety, Health & Training functional advice to all areas of the OOIT;
In conjunction with corporate safety & health improve the suite of safety & health standards;
Support the establishment of Safety, Health & Training processes and programs on project sites;
Evaluate bidders' safety performance and where applicable review contractors' safety management plans;
Establish appropriate site functional SH&T structures;
Mentor transition team and site management in safety leadership behaviour and ensure they have capability to undertake effective safety interactions; and,
Develop site safety, health & training indicators, reports and trending systems in line with corporate requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or relevant discipline;
Minimum 5 years experience in safety or line management, within the coal industry;
A detailed working knowledge of the relevant NSW and QLD health & safety legislation; and,
A high level of energy, passion with interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
